GOOTC was started because I wanted to meet, in person, my online friends that I chatted with everyday and had gotten to know.

The first year. We met at an abandoned parking lot across from King’s Dominion. There were 11 Mustangs. Meguiar’s sponsored the event by giving us some of their new NXT products to try out and give away. We hung out for about 2 hours, did a little Exhaust Sound off, then drove up to local Hooters to eat. Everyone had a good time.

More sponsors were brought in. We held the event at Hooters of Potomac Mills. We filled their parking lot to the gills. About 50 Mustangs showed up. This time the Sound Off was an actual competition. Prizes were awarded based on audience applause. Other prizes were awarded for Best in Show. And of course everyone who registered got a goodie bag.

With trying to capture the racing crowd among us, the event was held at Maryland International Raceway (http://www.mirdrag.com/) during one of their Test and Tune days. Almost 60 Mustangs showed up, over 75 had pre-registered, but the threat of rain had some people back out. This year we gave prizes for Sound Offs, Best in Show, Best RT, Lowest ET, and Highest MPH. Then we went the local Outback Steakhouse for dinner.

Second time at MIR. This time during their Swap Meet because the previous Saturday fell on Easter Weekend. Glad we changed the date. Approximately 75 registered members showed up and over 50 more. Total Mustang count was 133!! Everyone said they had a good time. We learned that we need to have 2 categories of Lowest ET/Highest MPH. Going to have race only and daily driven categories next year. This year we tried a Gambler's bet, where folks had to bet one how close they would get to their RT and ET combined. Made for an interesting combination. I (Silverjay) tried my hand at commentating during the group runs down the track. Got some good positive feedback. Even the racers waiting in line can hear over their radios, said they enjoyed it. Again dinner was held at Outback Steakhouse in La Plata. We had 48 people go, they accommodated us very well!
