2nd Annual GOOTC Gambler’s Event

This event is open to GOOTC racers only. Drivers can only wager on their own cars.

If you intend to race your car at GOOTC and wish to enter this wagering competition you must estimate an elapsed time (ET) and reaction time (RT) combination out to three decimal points and submit the combined number as your entry. For example if I think that my car will run an elapsed time of 13.723 and I will have an reaction time of .135 on the same run my entry for this competition would be 13.858. Each racer may submit only one entry.

All entries must be submitted here in this thread no later than 6:00 PM, March 26, 2009. A list of all entrants and their combined ET/RT estimate will be maintained in post 1 of this thread. The Gambler’s Event Coordinator (Maggie_6.5) will have a master list of all entries at GOOTC.

The entry fee for this event is $ 7.50. This will be paid to the Gambler’s Event Coordinator immedietely after clearing tech inspection. The Gambler's Event Coordinator will be located at the Event tables in the parking lot. You must go to her. She will not hunt you down. If the entry fee is not paid at least 15 minutes prior to the commencement of club racing your entry will be disqualified.

When you are finished racing you will take your time slip that has a combined number closest to that combined number on your entry to the Gambler’s Event Coordinator. The coordinator will compare all submitted time slips ( one per driver ) to submitted entries and determine the winner. The winner will be the driver with the combined ET & RT on his or her time slip closest to the combined number on his or her entry without going under that number. This competition will not be about the quickest car or the best reaction time but rather the driver who knows his or her car and his or her ability to react to the starting lights.

With a fair number of racers this could amount to quite a hefty purse. The winner will be awarded 75 percent of the entry money and the  balance will be retained by the GOOTC Event  Director  for future events. In the event of a tie the winner's pool will be split.  Last year's winner, Tim  aka Blue72Mustang took home $ 56.00

If there are any questions please post them up in this thread. Good luck everyone.
